In short

Safety is not a promise that nothing will happen. It is a documented set of people, equipment and decisions that respond well when something does.

  • Licensed partners
  • Trained guides and crew
  • 24/7 trip support

Operating standards

What we check before departure.

The safety layer should be boring, clear and ready.

Legal standing

Tourism licences, tax compliance, insurance and partner registrations.

People and training

Lead guides and crew hold relevant first-aid, safety and operational training.

Vehicles and boats

Maintained equipment, commercial licensing and documented vessel safety checks.

Emergency action plan

Each itinerary has a documented response path for weather, medical and transport issues.

Communications

A senior team member remains reachable during active journeys.

Review

Incidents, near misses and guest feedback inform the next operating plan.

The response chain

Clear decisions before the pressure arrives.

The plan is short enough to use and detailed enough to trust.

  1. 01

    01 · Risk brief

Review route, weather, activity level, health notes and insurance coverage.

  2. 02

    02 · Named roles

Confirm the guide, driver, operator and escalation contact for the day.

  3. 03

    03 · Check-in protocol

Use scheduled check-ins and a clear missed-contact procedure.

  4. 04

    04 · Review after

Record changes and feed the learning into future routes.

Travel insurance is required

Protection must cover the activities and evacuation route on your itinerary.

  • Medical and evacuation

Remote island care can require transfer to Sumbawa Besar or onward.

  • Diving cover

If diving is included, the policy must cover the relevant activity.

  • Proof before departure

Send the policy details before the trip so we can review the fit.

We cannot guarantee approval of an insurance policy. Ask the insurer for written confirmation of cover.

Ask the practical safety questions.

Tell us the route and activities. We will explain the operating plan and what we need from you.
